Marta Equi Pierazzini

I am a lecturer in the Department of Social and Political Sciences, teaching on the Economics and Management for Arts and Culture programmes (the BEMACC Bachelor's degree and the ACME Master of Science). In addition to Bocconi, I have taught Arts Management on the Visual Cultures programme at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, and have given seminars and lectures at PhD and professional level.
I am a Fellow of the Centre for Research on Geography, Resources, Environment, Energy & Networks (Green) in the Arts, Societies, Knowledge Economies (ASK) Research Unit, which specialises in interdisciplinary research into cultural, artistic and creative sectors. I have been part of the Observatory on Contemporary Art research team there, conducting applied research on culture-led processes of social transformation and territorial development.
I received my PhD in the Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage from the IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, Italy. My dissertation focused on feminist organising and the history, heritage and practices of Italian feminism. I was also a visiting researcher at the Gothenburg Research Institute at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
As an interdisciplinary researcher, I am interested in the intersection of feminist theory, organising efforts and artistic practices. I am keen on qualitative research methods and feminist epistemology, and I am devoted to the practice of writing as a means of constructing and articulating the ideas underlying my research.
My field of focus is the cultural sphere, and I am primarily interested in the role of gender and feminist issues in the cultural and creative sectors. My further topics of interest include the contemporary art market and systems, as well as practice theories in management and organisation studies.
