Edoardo Croci
Professor of Practice at Bocconi University. I am Director of the Sustainable Urban Regeneration Lab and Senior Research Fellow at GREEN (Centre for Geography, Resources, Environment, Energy and Networks), where I coordinate the “Green Economy Observatory” and the "Smart City Observatory." I am scientific coordinator of several European research projects focused on urban sustainability, circularity and resilience. I am Chairman of UERA – Urban European Research Alliance, member of the Thematic Group on Goal 11 (Cities) of UN - SDSN, member of the Team of specialist on policy innovation principles of UNECE, member of the Managing Board of the university network urban@it. I served as Milan City Councilor for Mobility, Transport and Environment, Administrator of the Agency for the Protection of the Environment of Lombardy Region, National government Subcommissioner for the implementation of Milan wastewater treatment system, Vice President of FEDARENE (European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agency), and Vice President of Italian Agenda 21 Coordination association.
Graduated with honors in Economic and Social Sciences at Bocconi University. Visiting Scholar at New York University. National qualification for associate professor. Former Vice director of IEFE, research center in economics and policy of energy and environment, Bocconi University. European Commission research projects expert evaluator. Reviewer for IPCC, OECD, ITF. Consultant for the World Bank and the OECD.
My main research area is related to design and evaluation of sustainable policies at the urban level in the environment, energy, mobility, and climate fields. I am currently scientific coordinator for Bocconi of six Horizon 2020 projects, related to climate mitigation, nature-based solutions, smart cities, urban circular economy.
I acted as Member of the Management Committee of the COST Action "Inogov - Innovations in Climate Governance: Sources, Patterns and Effects" and Supplent Member of the Management Committee of COST Action “Implementing Nature-Based Solutions for Creating a Resourceful Circular City.”
