The New Geography of Work

Remote working has become a structural feature of Europe’s labor market, not just a pandemic legacy. A new Nature Scientific Data study, involving Bocconi’s Greta Nasi and Lisa Fontanella, presents a dataset of over 20,000 European respondents. It shows that remote work is more common in urban areas, but could help rebalance territories by supporting rural employment and reducing depopulation.
